Raven Writes
Jack is considered an expert at teaching
the creative process of writing stories from
a Native point of view. The process he
uses is called "Values Based Writing,"
which means that he asks students to
begin all of their story-creating by
deciding what the story will teach.
Raven Writes workshops are from
four to 16 hours long and can cover
story theory, metaphors, human exper-
ience, cultural role of values, the value-
learning process, character needs, character
development, plots and plotlines, and other
writing exercises.
This workshop is available to you in many ways. If you have 12 or more students, you may host a workshop. Or you can participate in one of our writing retreats. Or you can encourage a local organization to host a workshop in your area.
