Elementary Schools
Imagine a class, a grade or entire schools
being delighted by traditional stories
from Alaska’s Yup’ik culture, followed
by visits to each class where students
learn a craft, such as making dance
fans and learning a Yup’ik dance,
or perhaps the basics of storytelling.
It is an experience your students
won’t forget. If this sounds good
to you, you'll want Package A or B.
For those students and classes in
grade 3 and up, experience the ful-
filling challenge of learning how to
create stories. Learn the basics of
story theory, lessons and values, plot
lines, metaphors, human experiences
and all of the things that make stories
memorable. At the end of a week or two, your
students and/or classes have a bonafide story that
they have created. The pride and happiness of such an accomplishment. A complete curriculum geared towards younger students makes it easy, fun and in line with many of the learning goals schools are aiming for today. If you are excited about this challenge, choose Package C.
